Vodka brings Finns to Estonia

80% of Finns who visit Estonia bring alcohol back home with them but other products have also started to be of interest, LETA/National Broadcasting cites a poll by the Finnish Trade Alliance.

61% of adult population of Southern Finland come to Estonia to buy alcohol. Pensioners and people who visit Estonia a lot do it more often. 73% of families with children also bring alcohol from Estonia.

 

The majority of trips Finns make to Estonia are shopping trips. 80% of people who have visited Estonia have brought with them alcohol, 44% food products, 42% clothes for adults and nearly a fifth medicines. Besides restaurants and hotels, spa and hairdresser services have become more popular. 18% have been to the opera or theatre.

 

Three fourths of adult residents of Southern Finland have visited Estonia in the past two years. 43% of pensioners have done it at least twice in two years. 80% of the polled said that intend to visit Estonia in the next two years and 35% said they will definitely do it.

 

A thousand adult inhabitants of Southern Finland, resenting 60% of Finnish population, were polled.
