Baltic clothes retailer Apranga's January-August sales down 15% to EUR 128.5 mln

Apranga, the Baltics' biggest clothing retailer, saw its retail sales for January-August drop by 15.2% y-o-y to 128.5 mln euros, including VAT, reported LETA/BNS.

The group's monthly sales for August edged down by an annual 1.1% to 22.3 mln euros, the Vilnius-based company, which is controlled by MG Baltic, one of Lithuania's biggest business groups, said in a stock exchange release. 

 

In the eight months of 2020 y-o-y, the chain's retail sales declined by 15.8% in Lithuania, by 9.6% in Latvia and by 21% in Estonia. 

 

Month-on-month, sales slipped by 1.7% in Lithuania and were down by 11.3% in Estonia, but rose by 7.7% in Latvia.  

 

The group currently owns a chain of 183 stores in the three Baltic countries, including 106 in Lithuania, 50 in Latvia and 27 in Estonia. Their total floor space grew by 3.8% y-o-y to 93,400 square meters.


Apranga is listed on the blue-chip Main List of the Nasdaq Vilnius Stock Exchange.
