Covid-19 Lartvia: Layoffs possible in public administration after the crisis
This is certainly not an end in and of itself, although it is now obvious that money is being saved in public administration, which could be used for other purposes. "The state has already saved EUR 1.4 mln on business trips, so we need to look at what further savings remote work could bring," the prime minister added.
Karins today issued a decree instructing all ministers to review the public institutions' expenses and direct any unused funds to mitigate the consequences of Covid-19 crisis, the prime minister's office informed LETA.
"As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, there are a number of measures that have been canceled and will not take place this year. I have instructed ministers to review public institutions' spending. Any unused funds will be spent on mitigating the consequences of Covid-19," said Karins.
