Estonian Patent Office registers 647 trademarks in H1

Print versionIn total 647 trademarks were registered and 501 international registrations stepped into effect in Estonia during the first six months of 2018, it appears from figures made available by the Patent Office, cites LETA/BNS.

At the end of June, the register contained 26,066 trademarks and 28,441 valid international registrations.
Of the trademarks registered during the six months 514 or 79.44% belonged to Estonian citizens and businesses, 29 or 4.48% to Latvian citizens and 15 or 2.32% to Swiss citizens.
Of the international registrations validated during the period, the most or 90 came from Russia, making up 17.96% of the total. Next came China with 53 and Germany with 40 registrations.
Estonian citizens own 11,991 of all the trademarks valid in Estonia. The United States comes next with 3,526 trademarks, followed by Germany with 1,772.
