Court orders insolvency process for Druva Food in Latvia

The district court in the western Latvian town of Saldus has ordered an insolvency process for Latvian ice cream maker Druva Food, writes LETA, according to information available at Firmas.lv.

The company was ruled insolvent on October 31, and the insolvency was recorded in the Register of Enterprises on November 2. Creditors have one month to file their claims.

 

According to information provided by Firmas.lv, Time to Be company lodged the insolvency claim against Druva Food on October 10 after the ice cream company failed to pay Time to Be EUR 5,500 for repairing a refrigerator.

 

Neriju Gedeika, the former Druva Food CEO, also filed an insolvency claim against the company on October 18 as the ice cream maker had withheld his salary for several months.

 

Information from the State Revenue Service shows that Druva Food has a tax debt of EUR 209,654.

 

Druva Food was founded in 1994, and has a share capital of EUR 2.683 million. The company's biggest shareholders are Estonian company Aktsiaselts (50%) and Aldis Osenieks (50%). In 2015, Druva Food generated EUR 2.225 million in turnover, down 10% year-on-year, while the company's profit rose 8.1% to EUR 139,600. The company’s performance results for 2016 are not available.
