The Lithuanian Supreme Administrative Court has upheld a fine imposed by the Competition Council on Amic Lietuva, formerly Lukoil Baltija, for taking over 15 filling stations without clearance from the anti-trust body, reports LETA/BNS.

Amic Lietuva must pay a fine of 3.298 million euros after the court dismissed its appeal in a final ruling on Tuesday.

The Competition Council in May 2014 fined Amic Lietuva 3.423 mln euros for taking over 15 stations from the bankrupt Lietuvos Kuras (Lithuanian Fuel) back in 2003 without having notified the competition authority about the acquisition.

Lukoil in the spring of 2016 sold around 230 filling stations in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland to Amic Energy Management. Viada LT (formerly Luktarna), a company indirectly owned by Ivan Paleichik, is the operator of the stations in Lithuania and Latvia. Lukoil Baltija was renamed Amic Lietuva in early December 2016.
