Estonian regional daily Maaleht reported that Estonian businessman Toomas Tool might have made investments in Latvian dairy company Tukuma Piens, and, possibly, is interested in financially troubled Estonian dairy company Tere that belongs to Oliver Kruuda, writes LETA/BNS.

According to the daily, Tukuma Piens’ head Otto Tamme has regained the loan given to Kruuda. Back 2009 Tamme's company Dalton Eesti received a debenture worth EUR 3 mln from Tere’s parent company Luterma. Later Luterma went bankrupt.

In the past ten years Tamme has been related with several investments made by Tool in Estonia, Latvia and Belarus.

The Harju county court in October declared the bankruptcy of Elveda, the parent company of Oliver Kruuda's Tere dairy, after which the trustee in bankruptcy replaced members of the dairy company's supervisory and management boards and appointed Aivar Rehe chief executive.

Tukuma Piens, founded in 1996, has a share capital of EUR 1,422,871, and employed 249 people last year. 79% stake in Tukuma Piens is held by non-residents, mostly Estonian citizens.
