At the end of the year the register contained 27,954 trademarks and 30,115 valid international registrations. During the year 1,688 trademarks and 1,877 international registrations were deleted.

Of the trademarks registered last year 967 or 79 percent belonged to Estonian citizens and businesses, 36 were of U.S. origin, 25 came from Latvia, 21 from Switzerland and 15 from Holland.

Of the international registrations validated in 2015, the most or 223 came from Russia, making up 18.8 percent of the total. Next came China with 103, Germany with 85 and Ukraine with 68 registrations.

Estonian citizens own 11,729 or 42 percent of all the trademarks valid in Estonia. The United States comes next with 4,057 trademarks (14.5 percent), followed by Germany with 2,213 (7.9 percent) and Switzerland with 1,424 (5.1 percent).

In 2014 the Patent Office registered 1,173 trademarks and validated 1,435 international registrations.
