Lithuania, China sign memorandum of understanding on cooperation in healthcare sector

The minister said at the meeting that although Lithuania is a small country yet its achievements and future goals in the area of healthcare are highly appreciated by global experts.
According to the minister, Lithuania and China will choose joint activities in concrete areas of healthcare and health sciences and will implement relevant measures.
The Chinese delegation was introduced to Lithuania's healthcare system, Kaunas Clinics and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
In the future most attention will be devoted to communication between the two countries on topics of healthcare and health sciences and exchange of expert groups. Representatives of Lithuanian and Chinese healthcare systems will be able to share experience about healthcare reforms, traditional and non-traditional medicine, health insurance and healthcare system funding, public health, disease control and prevention and policies on pharmaceuticals. It is also planned to organise joint research.
