Gas and electricity suppliers threaten to cut off power supply to KVV Liepajas metalurgs
Latvenergo says that KVV Liepajas metalurgs still has an outstanding bill for electricity.
The electric company has signed a power supply agreement with KVV Liepajas metalurgs, according to which electricity bills are paid every ten-day period of the month.
Since May 27, the company has failed to pay its electricity bills for the first and second ten-day period of May for the total sum of EUR 326,511. On June 5, the total bill for May reached EUR 598,429. The payment deadline is June 15. Bill for the first ten-day period of June has reached EUR 130,883.
Latvenergo says that KVV Liepajas metalurgs public announcement about the company's financial situation is in conflict with its actions. The company is requesting to shift the payment deadlines, pointing out the unstable situation in the scrap metal market.
If KVV Liepajas metalurgs till the June 19th doesn’t pays
the debt to the company Latvijas gaze, the company can turn off the gas, said the agency LETA press-secretary
of LG Vincents Makaris.
On June 11, LG once again sent
the company a warning that the supply of gas can
be stopped.
