Enterprise Estonia launches foreign specialists recruitment portal

BC, Tallinn, 29.04.2015.Print version
The state-owned foundation Enterprise Foundation announced that it launched on Tuesday the portal and programme Work in Estonia, which helps companies operating in Estonia to recruit highly qualified foreign specialists in high-growth sectors of the economy, reports LETA.

Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who supports the initiative, says the following: "If we want to stay in the Premier League, we need more people who are able to shape modern life. The only way to stay competitive is to receive people from elsewhere, and we must be ready to accept them. Estonia always needs smart and talented people. "

Enterprise Estonia board chairman Hanno Tomberg explained that the Work in Estonia programme idea came from entrepreneurs, who said that without the state support it is difficult for them to recruit foreign specialists. "We mapped real needs and sectors in which additional manpower is needed. The result is a web portal, which is a practical tool for employers recruiting foreign labour. The portal brings together active job offers targeted at foreigners, information necessary for moving to Estonia, as well as marketing materials, which are good for companies to use in recruitment. Currently it lists dozens of companies work offers with emphasis on the ICT sector," said Tomberg.

The first place where employment opportunities in Estonia are introduced is Finland, followed in autumn by Ukraine.
