Apsara chief predicts loss of quality for sold "Mozums” brand in Latvia
This according to Apsara owner Ikars Keiss, who added that the deal would have practically no impact on Apsara operations.
"The Lithuanians are vowing to increase production volume, but this will have limited impact on Apsara, because Gemaga and Apsara serve varied classes of clientele. All in all, I have to laud the deal – because this leaves Apsara as the sole real tea-maker in Latvia".
Keiss did, however, express concern about a drop in quality for his competitor because "foreign wholesale companies tend to optimize everything to make bigger profits.”
"The owner of Gemaga is an unknown foreign investor, who will gladly receive all commercial matters from the company's local directors. The tea market in Latvia is already flooded with low quality products," Keiss pointed out.
