Riga Stradins Hospital announces competition for finance director's position

Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital in Riga has announced a competition for the vacant position of the Finance Department's head, reports LETA, according to information published on the hospital's website.

The main responsibilities of the finance director is to cooperate with the hospital's board, develop and implement an efficient financial policy and strategy, manage the hospital's budget, analyze and control the budget implementation indicators, maintain the company's financial control system, analyze the economic and financial indicators for various periods, carry out risk analysis, and draw up financial forecasts.

 

The candidate must have a degree in business management, finance, economy, or accountancy. The candidate must also have prior experience working in a similar position for at least five years.

 

Applications will be accepted by April 9.

 

As reported, Health Minister Guntis Belevics (Greens/Farmers) had declared that he has lost his trust in Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital's board chairman Dins Smits. Ahead of any further action against Smits, the hospital's board chairman submitted his resignation.

 

The Health Ministry's State Secretary Solvita Zvidrina told the press briefing that Smits is being released because "a number of things are unclear about the hospital's flow of finances, and problems with the construction of the new wing."
