Purchase prices of agricultural products decreased by 17.3% in Lithuania in January y-o-y

In January 2015, compared with January 2014, purchase prices of agricultural products fell by 17.3% in Lithuania, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to the data of Statistics Lithuania, the aggregate purchase prices were mostly affected by the decrease of purchase prices of livestock and livestock products (-26.4%) and crop products (-2.7%).

 

In addition, purchase prices of other products fell as well: natural fat milk (-37.2%), swine (-22.3%), poultry (-11.8%), bovine animals (-11.5%), ovine and caprine animals (-9.6%). However purchase price of eggs increased by 9.6%.

 

Purchase prices of the following crop products decreased: potatoes (-47.9%), vegetables (-27.3%), cereal mixtures (-22.6%), rye (-10.6%), triticale (-10.1%), barley (-9%), fruit and berries (-4.8%), rape seed (-2.8%).

 

However, purchase prices of oats increased by 9.1%, wheat by 4.9%, legume crops by 3.8% and buckwheat by 2.9%.
