Zatlers invited Chilean businessmen to invest in Latvia

Print versionYesterday, during the accreditation visit of the new Chilean Ambassador to Latvia Jose Miguel Cruz, President Valdis Zatlers invited Chilean businesspeople to invest in Latvia and utilize the country's geographic position, BC was informed by the president's press service.

By establishing offices in Latvia, Chilean businesspeople would be able to not only effectively operate in the Baltic market, but in Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union as well, Zatlers pointed out.
The president also emphasized the possibility to develop cooperation in such areas as tourism and medicine.
The president also expressed hope that, with the new ambassador taking his post, relations and cooperation between the two countries will become wider and more diverse. The Latvian president also invited Chilean President Michelle Bachelet to visit Latvia.
