Government of Estonie made exceptions for teachers, cultural and internal security workers when lowering wages

Print versionThe Cabinet of Ministers of Estonia during a meeting on Thursday decided to make exceptions to teacher salaries, internal security and culture workers when cutting operating costs by 10%, the government office reported.

The government decided to make a proposal to the Riigikogu to decrease the wage fund of judges, whose income is related to average wages. The wages of ministers, which are also related to average wage, have been decreased by the Riigikogu by the same extent already, writes LETA.
The savings on various operating costs is almost 1.6 billion kroons, including 700 million kroons on personnel costs for the people who are paid wages from the state budget.
