Print versionInterior Minister Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas, delegated by the party Order and Justice, on Thursday morning submitted his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius. The prime minister has accepted his resignation, informs LETA/ELTA.

The minister named declining health as his reason of stepping down.
The presidential press service reports that President Dalia Grybauskaite will sign a decree on the dismissal of Interior Minister Barakauskas as soon as she receives a relevant document from Prime Minister Butkevicius.
As reported, the Special Investigation Service carried out several searches at the party Order and Justice headquarters in order to obtain substantial data on the suspected large-scale trading in influence (over LTL 32,500/EUR 9,400) by attempting to influence several public procurements by the Interior Ministry of 2013 in reward.
