Estonian state won 2.5 mln euros in court cases in 2013

According to the Estonian Ministry of Justice Internal Audit Department analysis, the state won in 2013 over 2.5 million euros in court proceedings and lost a little over 136,000 euro, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

In all types of proceedings, courts ruled that the state be paid a total sum of 2,522,935 euros and that the state should pay to its opponents 136,525 euros.

 

For example, in 2012, courts ruled that the state be paid 2,871,700 euros and the state pay to opponents 457,026 euros.

 

There were a total of 2,171 court proceedings involving the state that ended in 2013, of which 863 were civil cases, 1,290 administrative cases and 18 criminal cases.

 

Last year, the number of cases compared to 2012 decreased by approximately three percent.
