Saeima confirms Gunars Kusins as Constitutional Court judge

Print versionSaeima confirmed the parliament's Legal Affairs Bureau head Gunars Kusins as a Constitutional Court judge today, informs LETA.

Kusins was jointly nominated for the post by representatives from Unity, the Reform Party, All for Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK, the Union of Greens and Farmers, and independent MPs.
As reported, current Constitutional Court Chairman Gunars Kutris' term will end on February 5, thus a seat of the Constitutional Court will become vacant.
Constitutional Court judges are confirmed by Saeima for a period of ten years.
