PM: we have to encourage Lithuania-Malaysia cooperation

Today Lithuania's Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius met with the delegation under the leadership of senior Minister in the Malaysian State of Perak Zambry Abdul Kadir, informs LETA/ELTA.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the relations between Lithuania and Malaysia had become more intensive of the late years. This year, Lithuania's economy minister with the delegation of the businessmen visited Malaysia and the Prince of Malaysian State of Perak with his delegation visited Lithuania. The Lithuania-Malaysia Business Council was successfully operating. In 2014, the Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs was to visit Lithuania.

 

The governor of the Malaysian State of Perak Zambry highlighted that the Malaysia's foreign affairs minister recommended tourism minister to visit Lithuania and other Baltic States and in such way to encourage even stronger cooperation between the countries.


"We have to use the opportunities of the bilateral cooperation. We have to encourage the close Lithuania-Malaysia cooperation especially in the spheres of the transport and logistics, food industry, renewable energy and high technologies," said Butkevicius.
