Print versionEstonian Centre Party chairman Edgar Savisaar was elected the Mayor of Tallinn on Thursday by the city council, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.
46 city councilmen voted for and 26 against him.
This is the fifth time that Savisaar is elected the mayor of Estonia's capital. He has worked as Mayor of Tallinn in 2001–2004 and since April 2007 till now.
The city council also re-elected deputy mayors Taavi Aas, Kalle Klandorf, Mihhail Kõlvart, Merike Martinson, Arvo Sarapuu and Eha Võrk, meaning that the city council continues with the same people it did before the October 20 local municipality elections that Centre Party won.
