Estonia's crime rate falls slightly in 9 months

Print versionAccording to the justice ministry crime barometer data, the number of crimes in Estonia fell by 2% as compared to the same time last year, LETA/Delfi reports.

In the first nine months of this year, 31,008 crimes were registered altogether, by 743 less than a year ago.
The number of theft fell nearly 6% to 14,321 cases and the number of fraudulence by 5% to 1,228 cases. The number of robberies fell 10% to 344 cases.
In the first nine months, 59 cases of murder and manslaughter (including attempts) were registered, a fall by 13 cases from same time last year. However, the number of bodily abuse cases grew by 10% to 3,877 cases.
