This court ruling cannot be appealed.
As reported, trade union, after talks last week with management of the Latvian National Opera, declined to call off its strike. The management, meanwhile, said it will sit back and wait for the court's ruling on the strike's legality, writes LETA.
The trade union called on LNO board member and managing director Andrejs Zagars to resign, accusing him of violating LNO operations and being unable to ensure competitive salaries.
The strike was called since LNO's board and management have not managed to keep salaries at their previous level, reducing them on the basis of formal decrease in workload, the trade union points out in its statement to the mass media.
The Independent Trade Union of the Latvian National Opera Symphony Orchestra also expressed support to the Trade Union of the LNO Chorus and its plans to strike.
