Riga Court terminates Lembergs' lawsuit against prosecutor's office over disclosure of personal data

Print versionRiga Regional Court today decided to terminate a lawsuit brought by Ventspils Mayor Aivars Lembergs against the Prosecutor General's Office and three prosecutors over the disclosure of sensitive data.

Lembergs had sued prosecutors Ilga Paegle, Juris Juriss, Janis Ilsteris and businessman Ainars Gulbis, and also claimed LVL 400,000 in damages, writes LETA.
The Riga Regional Court's ruling may be appealed to the Supreme Court until December 20. Lembergs' attorney Janis Rozenbergs said that the court ruling would most probably be appealed.
Lembergs' lawsuit deals with disclosure of information regarding Lembergs' illnesses, health condition and medical examinations, as well as other private data.
