613 persons in Estonia have been paroled under electronic surveillance

According to the Ministry of Justice, from spring 2007 to present date, 613 parolees have been under electronic surveillance in Estonia, writes LETA/National Broadcasting.

587 of these persons are men and 26 women.

 

As of now, the security measures have been terminated for 548 of them and 65 are still under electronic surveillance, reported the ministry’s spokesperson Diana Kõmmus.

 

According to her, at least 92% adhered to the conditions of the parole.

 

Currently, a total of 3,420 persons are serving their punishments in prisons in Estonia, 36 of them on life sentences.
