On May 4, Permanent Representatives of Lithuania and the Republic of Haiti to the United Nations Dalius Cekuolis and Leo Merores signed a corresponding communication on behalf of their governments, reported BC Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

The Republic of Haiti is the third largest country in the Caribbean. The total area of Haiti is 27,750 square kilometres, its capital is Port-au-Prince and the population stands at 9 million people.
Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs allocated 50,000 litas in support for the victims of the earthquake that shook the country on January 12, 2010.
Haiti is 155th country with which Lithuania has established diplomatic relations.
