Economy Ministry of Lithuania to be called Business, Innovation and Labor Ministry

The reorganization of the ministry is foreseen in the programme of the fifteenth Government, because the Economy Ministry has transferred some functions to the new Energy Ministry. In line with the recommendations of international consultants and examples of Finland, Denmark and Czech Republic, the new structure reflects the most important priorities of the ministry: the encouragement of small and medium business and development of investments, exports and innovations, informs ELTA/LETA.
After the reorganization, there will be 181 staff position left in the ministry, except the functions related to work relations that the Economy Ministry us to take over from the Social and Labor Ministry as of 1 January 2010.
Organization changes are to be implemented in the Economy Ministry gradually, starting them now and finishing in autumn.
