Businessman Hillar Teder donates to Estonian parties most in 2014

Businessman Hillar Teder donated the largest amounts of money to Estonian political parties last year, dividing his donations between three parliament parties, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Estonian parliamentary parties gathered in donations last year a total of 1,185,612.4 euros, of which the largest amount, 463,972.34 euros was donated to the Reform Party. Pro Patria and Res Publica Union (IRL) received in the year 364,457.19, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 204,001.74 euros and the Centre Party 153,181.13 euros.

 

The biggest amount of the money, a total of 350,000 euros was donated to political parties by businessman Hillar Teder, who supported the Reform Party with 250,000 euros, IRL with 80,000 euros and SDP with 20,000 euros. Member of the parliament, businesswoman Reet Roos donated to IRL 100,500 euros. Businessman Urmas Sõõrumaa donated to the Reform Party and the Centre Party a total of 100,000 euros. Businesman Oleg Ossinovski supported SDP with 60,000, Märt Vooglaid the Reform Party with 40,000 and Väino Kaldoja Reform Party and IRL with 30,000 euros.

 

Among parties not represented in the Riigikogu, according to the party funding surveillance committee data, Conservative People's Party has received in donations 39,693.62 euros.

Independence Party 14,585 euros, the People's Unity Party 9,104.28 euros, Estonian Greens 8,159.39 euros, and United Left Party 3,028.97 euros. However, only the Independence Party has submitted to the Commission reports for all quarters.
