Estonian Riigikogu approves 185 legal acts in 2014

Print versionThe Estonian Riigikogu, which ended the autumn session on Thursday, held in 2014, 124 full house sessions and approved of 185 decisions, laws and statements, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In the first half of the year, the spring session, the parliament approved of a record 105 legal acts; at the emergency sessions at the end of June and beginning of July, 10, and during the autumn session, 70 legal acts.
Last year 139 legal acts were approved, of which 84 in the spring and 55 in the autumn session.
Altogether the parliament that started working in April 2011 has approved of 554 legal acts, the majority of which, 405 have come from the government and 132 from the parliament.
The parliament will convene for regular sessions again on January 12.
The next parliament elections take place on March 1 next year.
