Candidates are invited to apply for the position of the Corruption Prevention Bureau's chief from today, according to a statement in the government's official gazette Latvijas Vestnesis, reports LETA.

There are fifteen requirements in total. These include skills to organize effective team work, managerial skills, and ability to motivate the team. The head of the Corruption Prevention Bureau also has to be take responsible decisions, be willing to demonstrate his or her professionalism and offer new visions of the priorities and future development of the bureau and anti-corruption measures in Latvia.

 

The candidates have to be citizens of Latvia with flawless reputation, speak perfect Latvian and be fluent in at least two foreign languages, have higher professional or academic education, qualifications in law, experience of working in a high-level job in public administration.

 

The candidates also have to meet the requirements of the Corruption Prevention Bureau Law and the Law on Official Secrets. They must have no criminal record, and they must not have served in or worked for soviet or foreign security agencies, or been members of an illegal organization.

 

Applications and other necessary documents, including CVs and lists of references, will be accepted until September 13.

 

The commission for evaluation of candidates will be headed by the State Chancellery's Director Martins Krievins, and is made up of Prosecutor General Eriks Kalnmeiers, Constitutional Protection Bureau Chief Janis Maizitis, and Security Police Chief Normunds Mezviets.
