Latvian investment brokerage firms report EUR 1.356 mln in H1 profit

The aggregate profit of Latvian investment brokerages in the first half of 2017 was EUR 1.356 million, or by 4.6 percent less than in the same period in 2016, writes LETA, according to the information from the Latvian financial regulator, the Financial and Capital Market Commission.

The total income of the investment brokers in January-June this year contracted 2.1 percent year-on-year, while their aggregate expenditure dropped 1.1 percent.

 

Of the total income in the amount of EUR 4.958 million, most or 98.3 percent was commission income at EUR 4.875 million. Administrative costs were the main expenditure item, accounting for EUR 2.266 million or 62.9 percent of total expenditure, which was EUR 3.602 million in the first half of this year.

 

The total amount of client assets managed by the Latvian investment brokerages reached EUR 11.745 million at the end of June 2017, up by 1.6 percent from EUR 11.556 million at the end of June 2016.

 

In the first half of 2016, Latvian investment brokerages made EUR 1.421 million in aggregate profit.

 

At the end of June 2017, there were four investment brokerages in Latvia: ABLV Capital Markets, Dukascopy Europe, Renesource Capital and Amenda Markets.
