Bauhaus to invest EUR 20 mln in new DIY store in Tallinn

The Bauhaus do-it-yourself (DIY) retailer which is to open a store worth 20 mln euros in the Haabersti district of Tallinn next April is planning to hire 130 employees to work in the store and is to launch the hiring process already this September, reports LETA/BNS.

The total investment of Bauhaus in the new store is to be more than 20 mln euros, Bauhaus said in a press release. The building is to be built by the listed Estonian construction group Merko Ehitus which announced in March that construction of the building is to cost 7.6 mln euros, not including VAT.

 

The Rocca Al Mare DIY store is to have a drive-in area, a parking lot, utility works and access roads. The store will have a sales area of more than 14,000 square meters and it will employ more than 130 retail staff. The store is to be built on a plot with a total area of 4.7 hectares.

 

Established in 1960, Bauhaus is a German chain of supermarkets offering products for home improvement, gardening and workshop that has more than 270 outlets operating under its brand in 19 countries across Europe. Bauhaus opened its first store in Estonia and the Baltic countries in 2010 in Tallinn.
