Lauma Lingerie opens first franchise store in Africa

The joint-stock Latvian lingerie and undergarment producer Lauma Lingerie has opened its first franchise store in Africa, the company informs LETA.

The store has been opened in the Ugandan capital Kampala and is located in the ''Nakumatt Oasis'' shopping mall.

 

The company's board chairman Linda Matisone admitted that this is the first franchise store in Africa, but the fourth franchise store outside of Europe. She also added that the company also opened up a franchise shops in Mongolia this past September.

 

As reported, Lauma Lingerie achieved EUR 10.24 million in turnover last year.

 

The company posted EUR 997,369 in profit in 2013.

 

Lauma Lingerie operates over 50 franchise shops in such countries Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Mongolia, Uganda, Albania and Saudi Arabia.

 

The company plans to continue investments in its development this year.

 

Joint-stock Lauma Lingerie was established in 2005, and is a subsidiary of joint-stock Silvano Fashion Group.
