Tukuma piens to invest EUR 1 mln to purchase equipment for production of cheese

Joint-stock dairy company Tukuma piens intends to invest EUR 1 million in the purchase of new equipment to begin producing cottage cheese and feta cheese, the company has informed LETA.

Equipment for each of the new production lines will cost around EUR 500,000.

 

At the same time, the company also intends to purchase new plastic container filling equipment worth EUR 400,000, as well as a new ultra-filtration and pasteurization equipment worth EUR 200,000.

 

As reported, Tukuma piens operated with EUR 49.31 million in turnover last year, which was 15% more than in 2012.

 

The company also posted EUR 2.28 million in profit last year, which was 47% more than the previous year.

 

Tukuma piens currently produces over 180 different types of dairy products and currently employs around 250 persons.
