In 9 months, new car sales in Latvia grew by 20%

Print versionIn the first nine months of the year 2014, new car registrations were up by 20% compared to the first nine months of last year, Ingus Rutins, the vice president of "Automotive Association", told Nozare.lv, writes LETA.

11,072 new passenger automobiles and light commercial trucks were registered in the first nine months, which is a 19% and 24% increase respectively on the same period last year.
''Skoda'' has seen the fastest sales of new automobiles, up by 121% when compared to the same period last year.
However, the market leaders remain ''Volkswagen'' and ''Toyota'', who take 17.1% and 12.4% of the total market.
In September, 1,155 new cars were registered, which was two% more when compared to September of last year.
