Tallinna Sadam has serviced 7.45 mln passengers in 9 months

Estonian state-owned port operator Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) announced that the ports it manages serviced 7.45 million passengers in the first nine months of this year, by 4.8% more than at the same time last year, reports LETA.

In September, the company served 698,945 passengers, around the same as in September last year.

 

Most of the passengers in September used the Tallinn-Helsinki route, where passenger number reached 596,066 people. On the Tallinn-Stockholm route 67,811 people travelled and on Tallinn-St Petersburg route 14,575 people did. 43,296 passengers visited Tallinn and Saaremaa with cruise ships.

 

In September, Tallink serviced 58%, Viking Line 20%, Eckerö Line 14% and St Peterline 2% of the passengers; cruise passengers formed 6%.

 

In the nine months of 2014, AS Tallinna Sadam has serviced a total of 7.452 million passengers, which is, as compared to the same period last year, a 4.8% increase. The bulk or 82% were Tallinn-Helsinki route passengers, a total of 6.1 million. 10% travelled on the Tallinn-Stockholm route, 757,110 passengers and 113,992 passengers used the St. Petersburg route, which accounted for 2%.

 

From the beginning of the year, 485,902 cruise tourists visited the ports, which accounts for 6% of the total number of passengers.

 

In nine months, passenger ships visited the ports 3,738 times, 309 of those were cruise ship visits.
