Swedish fund: Baltic region remains attractive to investors

BC, Tallinn, 10.10.2014.Print version
The Swedish investment fund East Capital Explorer judges that the Baltic countries remain an attractive investment destination and intends to divest a part of its fund holdings to expand operations, writes LETA/Postimees.

«We see a number of attractive investment opportunities within both private equity and real estate, especially in the Baltic countries. These countries have among the euro zone's highest growth rates with a private consumption that remains strong. The Baltic property sector is particularly interesting in terms of its strong cash flow generation and also given that the sector is still in a recovery phase,» East Capital Explorer CEO Mia Jurke said in a press release.

The fund's leaders decided not to issue preference shares to finance new investments as funding through divestment of parts of the company's holdings would be more advantageous in present market conditions.

East Capital Explorer has since 2012 invested more than 50 million euros in the Baltic countries. The largest investments have been in the Estonian telecommunications company Starman and the class A office building Vilnius Business Harbor in Lithuania.

East Capital Explorer is a Swedish investment company focusing on Eastern Europe. It is listed on the Stockholm stock exchange.
