Property transactions grew by 8% in Lithuania in September

Lithuania's real property market saw more active trading in September 2014, but it did not reach the average monthly sales figure of 9,500, reports LETA/ELTA.

Preliminary data of the State Enterprise the Centre of Registers has shown that a total of 9,300 properties were bought in September throughout Lithuania, by 8% more than in August (8,600 transactions). The number of properties sold in September 2014 was by 13.7% lower compared with September 2013. 10,727 immovable properties were bought in September 2013 and 8,307 in September 2012.

 

There were 94 transactions of detached houses in September, by 11.9% more than at the end of summer. The number of apartments sold in the blocks of flats increased by 167, or 6.7%, in September month-on-month. Meanwhile, 343 more (by 8.5% more) land plots were sold in September compared with August.

 

In September the activity of real property market was spurred the most by transactions in Kaunas city and smaller Lithuania's districts. However, in recent months there was lower activity in real property markets of Vilnius, Klaipeda, Panevezys and Siauliai cities.
