According to the Prime Minister, Estonia’s economic growth is based on exports. In his view, we should move forward from the lowest step of the production chain, or, in other words, from the sale of raw milk.

“Our goal should be the production and export of dairy products with higher added value, such as yoghurt, cheese or milk powder,” the Prime Minister said and added that this way, the Estonian farmers are less vulnerable and more successful in finding new markets.

According to Rõivas, Väätsa farm complex serves as an excellent example of smart investment, which has changed the essence of agriculture – besides efficiency and high-quality output, it is important to ensure animal welfare and good working conditions for employees.

“I am glad to hear to it is also planned to add value to milk in the next development stages of the farm, in other words, to manufacture various dairy products,” Rõivas said.

Väätsa farm complex that was opened today is the biggest milking farm in Estonia and Europe with its uniqueness lying in smart solutions and the use of environmentally friendly policies.
