Latvijas balzams to produce special vodka dedicated to ''The Queen''
According to NME.com, ''Queen have'' created a "perfect tribute" for the late Freddie Mercury – a limited edition bottle of vodka, cites LETA.
The group have teamed up with SPI (Latvijas balzams) – producer of ''Stoli Spirits'' – to mark 40 years of their hit single 'Killer Queen' with a specially-branded spirit and bottles of the alcohol, sharing the song's name.
Brian May felt the drink is perfect for the group because their original frontman Freddie was such a fan and always drank it whilst touring.
"Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour. ''Killer Queen'' vodka is the perfect tribute,'' he said.
He also revealed what he saw when he went to the Latvijas balzams production plant in Riga, describing it as "the Willy Wonka chocolate factory for adults."
The bottle is 40% proof, described as "well versed in etiquette" and "seven times distilled using an ancient original vodka filtration process of quartz sand and birch charcoal with a unique filtration process at the final stage."
