Forest industry exports from Latvia grew by 8.4% in January-August

The total value of Latvia's forest industry exports reached LVL 874.659 million in the first eight months of 2013, 8.4% more than in the respective period in 2012, when the value of forest industry exports amounted to LVL 807.154 million, reporta LETA/Nozare.lv, referring to data from the Agriculture Ministry's Forest Department.

Timber exports totaled LVL 754.878 million in January-August 2013, 86.3% more than in January-August 2012.

 

Latvia's main forest industry export partners were Sweden with 12.3% (LVL 107.86 million worth of forest industry production), Great Britain with 12.3% (LVL 107.21 million) and Germany with 12% (LVL 105.12 million) of total forest industry exports.

 

Forest industry imports amounted to LVL 269.903 million in the first eight months of 2013, 20% more than in the corresponding period in 2012, when the figure stood at LVL 224.764 million.

 

Latvia's main forest industry import partners were Lithuania with 21.2% (LVL 57.21 million), Poland with 12.9% (LVL 34.87 million), and Estonia with 11.3% (LVL 30.56 million) of total forest industry imports.
