The project's coordinator Sabine Snepste informed LETA that the new trams will be out on the city's streets in July. The trams will be tested before they are accepted into operation, and the trams could begin to operate regular routes in August.
The new trams will be supplied within the European Regional Development Fund's co-funded project on renovating Daugavpils tram infrastructure. The project envisages investing more than LVL 11 million in the development of Daugavpils public transport. 83.11% of the project costs (LVL 8,456,216) will be covered by the European Regional Development Fund, 16.89% – by private funds.
