Tallinn Airport: number of flights grows by a third in winter

Juhan Tere, BC, Tallinn, 29.10.2012.Print version
Tallinn Airport announced that its flight plan includes by a third more flights this winter season that starts on Sunday than it did last winter, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

"In the light of decrease of Ryanair's flights, the headlines of online news leave the impression that in winter, wind blows through the empty airport and wolves howl here. This is completely misleading and Tallinn Airport would like to point that out: this winter's flight plan brings by a third more flights to the airport than last winter," said the airport's communications manager Lauri Linnamäe.

13 aviation companies fly to Tallinn, just like last year; there are 29 destinations instead of the 30 last year. In February Estonian Air opens the Göteborg route and in March starts flights to London City airport – then the weekly number of flights will exceed last year's winter season by 35%.
