Value of plywood export from Latvia increased by 12.6% in January-July

In the first seven months of 2012, the total value of Latvia-produced plywood export increased 12.6% from the respective period in 2011, according to data from the Agriculture Ministry's Forest Department.

The total value of plywood export amounted to LVL 64.164 million in January-July 2012, constituting 9% of the total value of forest industry exports. In the first seven months of 2011, plywood export reached LVL 56.979 million, writes LETA.

 

Altogether, 146,100 cubic meters of plywood was exported in January-July this year, compared to 134,900 cubic meters in January-July 2011.

 

Most of plywood export, worth LVL 11.66 million, went to Germany (18.2% of total plywood export), the value of plywood export to Great Britain was LVL 8.56 million, to France – LVL 4.91 million.

 

The total value of plywood import amounted to LVL 7.074 million in January-July 2012, 13.8% less than in January-July 2011, when the country imported LVL 8.202 million worth of plywood.
