ABB Baltic States manager Bo Henriksson commented upon making the investment that "Estonia has a very good business environment". He praised Estonia's employees and admitted that the labour costs are by a half smaller than in Sweden or Finland.
Economy ministry chancellor Marika Priske stressed at the ceremony the role of ABB as the first large foreign investor in Estonia. She noted that the company has built 4 plants and offers jobs to 1,200 people.
The new building will have 14,000 square metres of space for a substations and low voltage systems plant, a warehouse and office space. Together with the existing production units, ABB innovation district OneCampus will emerge in Jüri. The building should be completed by next spring.
ABB operates in Estonia since 1992.
