Avies won the contest over the competing Estonian Air with a cheaper offer.
Avies will service the route with a 18-seat plane Jetstream. Till May 15, current operator Estonian Air with a 33-seat Saab will service the route. As its plane is bigger, its offer was also by almost a half more expensive.
"The plane will be smaller but the plane has not been too full so far either. The number of flights however will be bigger, that is progress," said Saare county government county secretary Jaan Leivategija, adding that there will be 9 return flights a week now, which is by one day more than so far.
