Over 11 months of 2011, the volume of trade between Lithuania and Poland reached LTL 11 billion (EUR 3.2 billion) and by almost LTL 0.5 billion (EUR 0.15 billion) bettered the previous bilateral trade record set in 2008.

Ryszard Kowalski, head of Trade and Investment Promotion Section at Polish Embassy, said that even though data for the last month of 2011 has not been delivered yet, one can claim that the growth of bilateral Lithuanian-Polish trade has been largest among all Polish trade partners, informs LETA/ELTA.

At present, Poland is Lithuania's fourth exports partner in volume and third in imports. Mineral products account for majority or 45% of Lithuanian goods exported to Poland. What comes to imports, Poland mainly supplies Lithuania with agriculture products and food (19%).

In terms of foreign direct investment (FDI), Poland ranks second in Lithuania. Polish Embassy data confirms that in three quarters of 2011, Polish FDI accounted for LTL 4.8 billion (EUR 1.4 billion).
