In 2005 Ryanair started operations in Lithuania at Kaunas airport and made it its first Eastern European base in 2010. The last 8 months have seen a substantial growth in Ryanair’s operations in the Baltic countries when the airline established itself in Estonia and opened 10 routes to/from Tallinn in December 2010. In May 2011 Ryanair opened its second Lithuanian airport in Vilnius. Ryanair currently offers flights on 53 routes to/from the four Baltic airports. In 2011 Ryanair expects to carry a record number of some 2.5 million passengers to/from the three Baltic countries, supporting and sustaining 2,500 local jobs.

Ryanair celebrates its considerable growth in the Baltic countries by releasing 500,000 €9.99 / 7LVL seats for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in October. These “all in” low fares will be available on over 1,000 of Ryanair’s European routes but must be booked on www.ryanair.com before midnight Monday 22^nd August.
