airBaltic council supports Flick's motion to increase airline's share capital

Today, the council of the national airline airBaltic supported airBaltic President Bertolt Flick's proposal to increase the airline's share capital, Nozare.lv was informed by Flick. Flick points out that Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) and the government are now responsible for the decision on the airline's share capital increase.

Tomorrow, at 12 a.m., the airline's shareholders will hold a meeting to discuss the matter. At 2 p.m., Flick will provide more detailed information about the airline's further actions regarding its share capital increase.

 

Flick emphasizes that the airline's share capital increase is a precondition for stable and sustainable operations in the future. It is also required to ensure the airline's further development and fleet modernization.

 

As reported, on August 5, the state shareholders' representative Santa Glazniece was elected chairwoman of airBaltic council. Jean-Charles Korsak, the representative of the airline's minority shareholder, "Baltijas aviacijas sistemas" (BAS), was elected as her deputy.

LETA also reported, on August 3, the airline's shareholders elected a new council - state representatives Glazniece, Gints Kirsteins and Raitis Tukans, and BAS representatives Ilmars Razumovskis and Korsak.
