SEB has launched a new mobile bank for its clients in Estonia which allows them to easily and conveniently access and use all key bank services wherever they have mobile coverage, as the bank reports.

The Mobile Bank can be used on modern smartphones as well as ordinary mobile phones. SEB has also become the first bank in Estonia to offer a special Internet bank application for iPhone, while also providing a special application for Android smartphones, reports LETA.

Using the Mobile Bank, clients are able to make domestic transfers and check their account and credit card balances and statements. They can also access their personal Financial Planner, look up the latest exchange rates and check on their securities portfolio.

"The new Internet bank we launched late last year has been really well received by our clients, so logically the next step was to make our services just as easily available to mobile users," explained Riho Unt, chairman of the management board of SEB. "It's an important step, too, in SEB's longer-term strategy to be the best bank on the Internet and on mobile phones."

SEB's Mobile Bank is a complete solution of mobile bank services which includes the Internet bank adapted for mobile browsers, the WAP service designed for older phones and the applications meant for iPhone and Android smartphones. Clients can also continue to make use of other mobile services such as mobile payments and SMS enquiries. As such, SEB clients can now access all of the bank services that are important to them via their mobiles wherever they have coverage.

"The opportunities that mobile devices represent are developing at an enormous pace, and more and more people are making use of services via their mobiles," said Unt. "That’s why it's only natural that more and more bank services are moving in the same direction. We want SEB to be the market leader in the development of mobile banking services, so we’re looking forward to our clients' feedback about the new mobile bank. We welcome any suggestions and ideas – we want to make it as good as it can possibly be!"
